The Summer School 'Modern Wavefunction Based Methods in Electronic Structure Theory' (MWM16) is directed towards highly motivated Ph.D. students and postdocs who want to deepen their knowledge in the field of ab initio electronic structure theory.

Summer School

Since 2013 the MPI CEC organizes a Summer School once a year - in 2017 for the first time with the topic "Electronic Structure and Spectroscopy of Transition Metal Complexes". Our Summer School combines aspects of molecular theory and spectroscopy.

International Max Planck Research School

The training of young academics is essential for the future of science and research. Therefore, the Max Planck Society launched a unique postgraduate training program – the International Max Planck Research Schools. ORCA User Meeting

The ORCA program package, developed at the MPI CEC, by now has a vastly increasing user community worldwide. In order to facilitate discussion between developers, contributors and users the MPI CEC organized the first ORCA Users Meeting.

Penn State Workshops

MPI CEC scientists regularly support the Bioinorganic Workshop of Pennsylvania State University. Prof. Frank Neese, Prof. Serena DeBeer and a number of CEC PhD students and Postdocs acted as lecturers and tutors at the workshop in 2016.

European Summerschool in Quantum Chemistry

Researchers of MPI CEC are also involved in the European Summerschool in Quantum Chemistry (ESQC). The goal of the school is to introduce the participants to modern methods and computational techniques in quantum chemistry. CEC Director Prof. Frank Neese is regularly teaching at the ESQC.
