ScienceNight Ruhr

In 2016 the MPI CEC joined the ScienceNight Ruhr for the first time.

ScienceNight Ruhr is one of the youngest and largest Science Festivals in Germany. Every two years this polycentric Researchers’ Night turns the dynamic Ruhr Region into a swirling “Knowledge Metropolis”. More than 500 scientists from more than 50 institutions will present a dialogue-oriented, interactive programme.

ScienceNight Ruhr 2016

On September 30th, 2016 the second ScienceNight Ruhr took place from 4pm to 10pm - And we were part of the fun.

More than 500 scientists from more than 50 institutions presented a dialogue-oriented, interactive programme in several cities like Dortmund, Bochum, Gelsenkirchen, Essen, Duisburg, Kamp-Lintfort, Hagen and Mülheim an der Ruhr.

Our apprentices represented our institute and prepared some exciting experiments to show in the Kunstmuseum in Mülheim an der Ruhr. Together with a team from the neighboring institute (MPI für Kohlenforschung) they informed about the exciting daily working life at a research institution.
