In November, the University d´Aix-Marseille (AMU) and its president Yvon Berland honored eight famous international scientists. During the „Soiree Scientifique“ Prof. Lubitz, director at the MPI CEC, also received the honorary doctorate for his extraordinary career, his scientific success and his efforts in promoting science.

The ceremony took place in the Palais du Pharao, which was build in the 19th century in Marseille at the instigation of Napoleon III. The AMU honorary doctorate is one of the most renowned prizes within French Higher Education.
