In the energy system of the future, not only electrons but also molecules play an important role. With the raising of energy and climate policy targets through the European Green Deal and the German Climate Protection Act, the use of very large quantities of hydrogen in total will be necessary in industry, mobility, energy and heating sectors. The geopolitical dimension of energy supply security in Germany has also been made more than clear by current events.
At the acatech thematic conference "Element 1", which will take place on September 15, the various aspects and challenges of building a hydrogen economy will be discussed. Prof. Walter Leitner, Managing Director at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion, will be one of the participants.
