Prof. rer. nat. Walter Leitner, Chair of Technical Chemistry and Petrochemistry at the RWTH Aachen, will be Director at the MPI CEC as of October 2017. He will head the newly established department "Molecular Catalysis".

In line with Leitner's appointment as director, an intense cooperation between the MPI CEC and the RWTH Aachen is initiated, as he will continue his function as Department Chair for the next five years on a part-time base.
