Prof. Wolfgang Gärtner, head of the 'Photoreceptors' group at the MPI CEC in the Department of Heterogeneous Reactions, will become a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Biological Chemistry (JBC) in 2015.

All members undergo a rigorous selection process, are experienced scientists and must also demonstrate excellent research results.

The JBC has been published since 1905 and, as an English-language scientific journal, primarily publishes articles on biochemistry and molecular biology that are subject to peer review prior to publication, i.e. an assessment by other scientists acting as independent reviewers.
