Since the beginning of October Atanu Rana is a newly appointed postdoc in the Department of Inorganic Spectroscopy of Prof. Serena DeBeer. Atanu is an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow, most recently worked at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science in Calcutta and was able to choose a German research institution to pursue his research project.
He has chosen the MPI CEC and is very much looking forward to working with the DeBeer Group and the staff in Mülheim an der Ruhr: "I am very much excited to be here and so happy to be able to do research at the MPI CEC," says the fellow enthusiastically.
Atanu will do catalytic Carbon Monoxide (CO) reduction by VFe-Nitrogenase and elucidate a detailed reaction mechanism of it.
The Humboldt Research Fellowship sponsors postdoctoral and experienced researchers with above-average qualifications from all nationalities and research areas. The fellowship offers researchers the opportunity to conduct their own research in collaboration with a host at a research institution in Germany.
