On February 18, 2025, an exciting seminar titled “Towards a Sustainable Energy-Chemistry Nexus: A Systems Approach” took place at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion. The event brought together leading scientists to discuss current developments at the interface of chemistry and the sustainable energy industry.
After a brief welcome by the three directors of the MPI CEC (Walter Leitner, Serena DeBeer, Siegfried R. Waldvogel), two renowned experts presented their research:
Ass. Prof. Artur Schweidtmann (Delft University of Technology) spoke about “Generative Artificial Intelligence for Chemical Engineering” and showed how AI can revolutionize chemical engineering.
Dr. Falko Ueckerdt (Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, PIK) highlighted the role of Power-to-X technologies in the energy transition in his lecture “P2X from a system perspective – current trends and future prospects”.
The seminar provided valuable impetus for innovative research approaches and offered a platform for exchanging ideas about the future of sustainable energy systems. It was a great pleasure to welcome such esteemed guests and excellent speakers. We would like to express our sincere thanks to them for their visit and for the inspiring discussions that made this day a great success.
