Dr. Jesús Esteban Serrano, a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Dr. Andreas Vorholt (<link internal-link internal link in current>Department of Molecular Catalysis) has qualified in a global competition among young scientists to participate in the <link https: www.cas.org about futureleaders _blank external-link-new-window internal link in current>2018 CAS SciFinder Future Leaders Program.
<link https: www.cas.org about _blank external-link-new-window internal link in current>CAS, a division of the <link https: www.acs.org content acs en.html _blank external-link-new-window internal link in current>American Chemical Society, is dedicated to the ACS vision of improving people's lives through the transforming power of chemistry.
As one of only 30 participants, Jesús is going to visit the CAS headquarters in August 2018 in Columbus, Ohio and will have the opportunity to collaborate on new supporting initiatives for the scientific community, including the innovative workflow solution as well as the chemistry portal <link https: www.cas.org products scifinder _blank external-link-new-window internal link in current>SciFinder®. In addition to that, all the selected participants have received a financial contribution towards attending the 256th American Chemical Society Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts.
“I am more than thrilled to take part in the SciFinder Future Leaders Program together with other emerging researchers in chemistry and related disciplines. Indeed, I am very much looking forward to learn more about the role of chemical information in scientific activities as well as in other aspects of our life in society. This in an excellent opportunity to expand my horizons, acquiring new knowledge and increase my international network with new contacts with whom I can collaborate in the future,” says Jesús.
The CAS SciFinder Future Leaders program is organized since 2010 and since then has rapidly grown to become a recognized premier program of its kind. The aim of this program is to expand professional networks among researchers, exchange ideas about the information process in research, increase knowledge as well as share experience between industrial and academic leaders.
