Upcoming event:
2nd IMPRS RECHARGE Symposium – Catalysis towards Greener Chemistry
May 20th -23rd 2019
Catalysis represents one of the fundamental tools to implement green chemistry concepts in real world applications. By providing alternative reaction pathways with lower activation energies, catalysts offer the prospect of highly selective processes with decreased energy demands, lower material consumption and less waste generated. The tailoring of catalyst materials for specific applications requires molecular understanding of the elementary steps within the desired reaction pathway.
The <link https: imprs.cec.mpg.de external-link-new-window internal link in current>IMPRS-RECHARGE focusses on the analysis of catalytic mechanisms by bridging theory, synthesis, and spectroscopy. Since its foundation in 2015 the school brings together an interdisciplinary group of students to investigate reactive structures in chemical reactions from all perspectives.
The symposium aims to place approaches and insights from these different fields of catalysis into the common context of green and sustainable chemistry: In four days, concepts, techniques, and challenges of heterogeneous, homogeneous, and bio-catalysis will be discussed, from molecular spectroscopy to large scale applications. The conference will take place from 20 May – 23 May 2019 at the MPI für Kohlenforschung.
