At the booth of the Kopernikus "Power-to-X" project, Prof. Leitner (right) and Dr. Steilemann were able to catalytically bind CO2 and hydrogen molecules at the "dynamometer".

The MPI CEC informs about the Carbon2Chem project at ACHEMA 2018. Interested visitors can inform themselves at the booth about the joint project with 17 partners from industry and science.

ACHEMA worldwide is the forum of the process industry and the trend-setting technology that covers fields of chemical engineering, environmental protection and biotechnology. Every three years the big congress "World Forum and Leading show for the Process Industries" is organized that comprises the whole spectrum of topics in the field ranging from chemical engineering, through process engineering up to biotechnology.

In addition to the Carbon2Chem information stand, the MPI CEC is also involved in other aspects of the fair:
On the 13th of June Prof. Leitner together with Dr. Markus Steilemann (Covestro AG) is giving a Plenary Lecture during the ACHEMA2018 Panel Discussion entitled: "Sustainable chemical value chains: New perspectives for sector coupling" in Frankfurt. During this lecture, they highlighted the potential of CO2 as a raw material for the sustainable enhancement of value in chemistry. At the booth of the Kopernikus "Power-to-X" project, they were able to catalytically bind CO2 and hydrogen molecules at the "dynamometer".

This year's ACHEMA is taking place between 11th and 15th of June, in Frankfurt. Beside the lectures providing insights into the current research activities related to the mentioned topics, there are also panel discussions, new products and services in chemical engineering presentations and also (bio-)chemical vendor exhibitions.
